VENICE INTERNATIONAL ART FAIR 2025 analyzes the relationship between body and space, and the hybridization between identities and cultural/physical/social/urban contexts in contemporary times, through two main sections: LIQUID ROOMS and FUTURE LANDSCAPES.

LIQUID ROOMS analyzes the hidden parts of our identities, through an immersive experience inside the fascinating universe of the complex labyrinths of our consciousness. The human body is a changing system that connects us with other bodies and spaces to perceive the surrounding reality: a strong communication system with its own language and infinite ways of expression.

FUTURE LANDSCAPES are abstract, infinite and conceptual, associated with a sense of freedom and infinite extension. Primarily experienced with the mind, spaces redefine their limits and borders, transforming surfaces in an open flow of pure ideas. This section focuses on the concept of boundaries and structures between body, mind and soul, human identity and the city, the space and the ground.

VENICE INTERNATIONAL ART FAIR 2025 brings together an extraordinary selection of international artists, each offering a unique perspective on the interplay between body, space, and identity. Ilona Wohlmutter’s abstract expressionism captures the dialogue between emotions and color, creating an immersive experience where the viewer can engage with the layers of her subconscious and emotional states. Starting her artistic journey later in life, Wohlmutter channels her feelings through her paintings, often using bold brushstrokes to create intuitive compositions symbolizing strength, joy, and melancholy. A similar exploration of emotional color is deepened by Chae Yun Christine Park, whose work translates the changing shades of the sky throughout the day into a playful symphony of colors and geometric shapes, expressing how architecture and individuals coexist within space.

The ritualistic nature of Alejandro Mariotti‘s “Encounters” reflects on the hidden parts of our identities, capturing the subconscious expressions evoked by the influence of nature. Mariotti employs expressive techniques such as palette knives, brushes, and natural pigments to depict creatures wearing humanizing masks, symbolizing the encounter between humans and the organic world. Stefanie Hudspeth’s work also merges the human and animal forms, yet with a focus on self-image, self-expression, and the fluidity of the human condition. Drawing inspiration from the elegant motion of Spanish dance and the raw power of bulls, she infuses her pieces with a striking contrast between grace and intensity.

Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Venice, with its artistic heritage and evocative atmosphere, the VENICE INTERNATIONAL ART FAIR 2025 finds in the prestigious Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello an ideal setting for Branca Cuvier’s exploration of the intricate relationship between the physical and emotional self, inspired by her background in psychology and anthropology. Through mixed media, including painting on paper, acrylic sculptures, and video, she delves into the complexities of human nature, reflecting themes of connection, evolution, and loss. Her art translates emotional matter through an anatomical perspective, transforming it into patterns and rhythms that invite introspection and foster self-awareness, urging viewers to explore their psychological landscapes.

Enriching the LIQUID ROOMS’ exploration of hidden identities, Eleni Paridi’s photography reveals the mesmerizing textures of crystalline minerals, focusing on transparent stones like clear quartz. Her work plays with the interaction of light and form, creating a captivating dialogue between the visible and the unseen. Similarly, Artur Ferreira’s painting is driven by a deep desire to question and interpret his views on the world through the fusion of color and mixed media, incorporating natural elements like rocks and minerals to emphasize eco-consciousness. Influenced by history and the diverse ways humans construct reality, Ferreira tackles profound themes such as life, spirituality, and the relationship between people and nature. His work challenges the audience to reflect on the importance of social and environmental sustainability.

Paulina Winiarska’s paintings delve into the delicate balance between environmental issues and mental health, drawing analogies between the animal world and human relationships. Her focus on parasites and their impact on other species serves as a powerful metaphor for societal and psychological struggles. Using oil on canvas, her works are detailed and layered, vividly depicting the harrowing consequences of parasitic behavior. Through her art, she sparks reflection on themes of control, exploitation, and the fragility of life. Shifting the focus further into the emotional struggles that we all face, such as depression, failure, and despair, Ekaterina Zueva seeks to transform these difficult moments into a powerful narrative of hope and renewal. She captures the emotional depth of human experience through rich textures and layered compositions, reflecting the complexity of personal growth and resilience.

On the other hand, within the FUTURE LANDSCAPES section, Uzair Merchant‘s work blends cinematic innovation with cultural storytelling as an exploration of abstract ideas and futuristic visions of space and identity, drawing from his Indian roots and global influences. Known for his boundary-pushing creativity, Uzair’s experimental approach explores the intersection of cosmic imagination and human connection: through mobile filmmaking and cutting-edge technology, such as AI and Web3, he revolutionizes storytelling, provoking thought and challenging traditional cinematic norms, an approach that has earned him numerous international accolades. Teresa Garofalo’s exploration of the relationship between the human body and nature reflects the essence of both sections, particularly the idea of modernity’s estrangement from natural spaces. Her art investigates the void left by contemporary society’s disconnection from nature, which she aims to bridge by blending distorted imagery that disrupts the viewer’s perception, encouraging introspection and a sense of uncertainty.

Finally, Elena Ilyuchyk‘s art is a celebration of beauty, femininity, and the delicate intricacies of human relationships: with a background in classical painting, sculpture, and architecture, she has developed a sophisticated multidisciplinary approach that blends fine art with structural mastery. Elena’s distinctive technique involves layering watercolor with collage, gilded accents, and decorative elements, creating works that radiate sensuality and emotion. Her art invites the audience into a world of poetic harmony, where each piece echoes a story of passion, strength, and ethereal beauty.

OUR LOCATION

palazzoalbrizzicapello 001 1

Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello is one of the most known palaces of the Renaissance in Venice. It is a historical building dating back to the 16th century, and it has been owned by several noble Venetian families, as demonstrated by the frescoed ceilings, the artistic stuccos and the fine furniture that enriches its rooms. The Palace welcomes visitors with its beautiful private garden on the ground floor, and then it gathers the guests in its large first-floor salons, in which past and present dialogue together. The restored Old Masters’ frescoes and the contemporary art masterpieces that are periodically shown in the exhibitions hosted here, make Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello the perfect location for the balance between old and new, between ancient environment and contemporary art, architecture and design.

Today the building is managed by ACIT Venice – the Italian-German Cultural Association – which is considered one of the most important intercultural associations in Europe. Thanks to the ACIT unceasing cultural activity, Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello has nowadays frequent collaborations with the Goethe Institute and with other local and international institutions, maintaining its ancient reputation. Because of these relations, it presents a huge program of memorable art exhibitions, conferences, congresses and concerts. Among the last institutional exhibitions, is its participation in the 58th Venice Biennale with the Guatemala pavilion, the Dominican Republic pavilion and the Grenada pavilion. ITSLIQUID Group already had the pleasure to hold some festivals and exhibitions in Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello, such as MORPHOS Festival and FUTURE IDENTITIES Festival, both in 2014.
