Emma Boykin is a New York-based artist renowned for her exquisite paper pieces crafted from natural fibres. Born in the vibrant city, Emma’s creative journey in the arts began to take shape at a young age, culminating in a profound exploration of art history, design, and emotion through her chosen medium. Driven by a deep-seated passion for the arts, Emma pursued her academic endeavours at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Textile Design. It was during her time at university that Emma first discovered her affinity for working with paper, captivated by its versatility and tactile qualities. Since then, she has devoted herself to mastering the intricate art of paper making, honing her skills over several years of dedicated practice. Her works serve as a visual reflection of her innermost thoughts, feelings, and emotions.

Drawing inspiration from her surroundings and personal experiences, Emma imbues each piece with a reflection of how she is feeling at a moment in time, whether it be light, dark, or a combination of the two. Through her art, she seeks to evoke a myriad of emotions, encouraging her audience to explore their own reactions and interpretations, and inviting viewers to embark on an introspective journey of self-discovery.
