Monte brings his designs to life with a production approach that is respectful of nature and fair, in his workshop set up under the olive trees in Türközü Village of Ayvalık. Each design is produced with the finesse of craft, care and love. 

An artistic journey on the peaceful shores of the Northern Aegean, in Türközü Village of Ayvalık… These works kneaded with the best raw materials in the world, are an aesthetic pleasure and an elegant representation of subjectivity in the texture of life. Monte not only produces unique porcelain products but also pioneers change. By establishing a team predominantly made up of women, she offers hope and a source of income to the local people in rural life beyond agriculture. 

While spreading the love of art and craft with the training she provides on porcelain production, she presents the fertility of the soil in porcelain plates with the olives and vegetables she grows in her garden. Under this roof, art, sustainable living and social transformation come together. Monte’s vision is a bridge that blends the craftsmanship of the past with the needs of modern life… And each piece of porcelain is one of the stones of this bridge. 

Stories first passed down visually and emotionally and then in writing from generation to generation, form the memory of society over time with the cultural tools created by humanity. The best way to say we have arrived, we are living and producing is to leave stories behind. As the designers of Monte, we started our story with porcelain in the North Aegean town of Ayvalık in March 2012. Giving shape to porcelain and meeting the depth of the bond established with it was the most meaningful step in our own journey.
